Jubilee Cycle has been a South Burnaby landmark since 1946, out-fitting countless generations of families with bikes throughout Burnaby and the Lower Mainland.
The store was purchased in 1974 by the Davies family – a family passionate about the sport of cycling and love of bikes. With a deep and extensive history of results on the road and track, owners Jim Davies (retired) and son Neil Davies, are well-known in the community of cycling in British Columbia. Father Jim, an avid road and track cyclist, competed for Canada at the 1954 British Empire Games in Vancouver and the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia. Neil followed his father’s path and carved out a name for himself on the road and track winning both titles of B.C. Junior Road Champion and Canadian Cycling Champion on the track.
Today, the store is run by a team of two:
Neil Davies – Owner – who started his career in the store at the age of eleven. Today, you will still see Neil lining up on the start line at local criteriums and on the track at the Burnaby Velodrome.
Keifer Livingstone – Service Manager and Head Mechanic – (with a love for modern and vintage bikes) has a history in track racing and road racing at the elite level. Now you’ll catch him shredding the local mountains on his days off.
For past 19 years Jubilee Cycle has been voted Best Bike Shop in Burnaby by the Burnaby Now Newspaper – a direct result of the continued commitment, hard work and exceptional service delivered by this dedicated and specialized team year-round.
Jubilee continues to service a wide range of clientele from the hard-core mountain biker to the avid roadie to the every-day commuter and the weekend recreational family riders. As a neighbourhood bike shop, Jubilee’s involvement with the community is invaluable and includes: local schools, City of Burnaby, RCMP, BC Housing, BCIT Safety and Security – to name a few.
